We are working hard to make sure that your child has/children have the smoothest transition possible to Radipole Primary School.

If you want to find out more about life at Radipole, please do follow our Facebook page which is frequently updated with events and classroom learning experiences.

If your child is joining us in September 2025, we have recently emailed you lots of information. If you have not received an email, please phone (783353) or email the office (office@radipole.dorset.sch.uk) to let us know. Thank you.

Talk to Parents and Carers (re New Intake Children Arriving in September 2025)

Wednesday 18th June 2025

9.15am (please come to the school office to sign in) until 10.30am

You are invited to join us for a meeting, where we will share essential information about our routines and give some practical advice on how best to help your child with their transition to school. You will be informed about your child’s class teacher(s) and teaching assistants on that day. Representatives from other agencies who work closely with the school in support of the pupils will also be present. There will be information about our Breakfast and After School Clubs, Local Food Links information regarding hot dinners, and representatives for school uniform. Please talk to a member of the office staff at the meeting if you will require Breakfast and/or After School Club access; these sessions will be available for your child from Monday 8th September.

Please note that it is not appropriate for the children to attend this meeting. If you are unable to attend the meeting, it would be helpful to send a family member.

Please provide your child’s original Certificate of Birth to share with our wonderful office staff on this occasion if you have not already emailed it to Mrs Bowden with your School Admission Form.

Pupil Premium

Please could all parents read the letter attached below. If you are in receipt of certain benefits, the school can receive extra funding from the Government; this will really make a positive difference to the opportunities and facilities the school can provide. Please use the information in the letter to apply online, as the extra money is very valuable, and the school will otherwise miss out on money it is eligible for.

Meet the Teacher Appointments

There will be an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher on Monday 30th June, Tuesday 1st July or Thursday 3rd July, 3.30pm-5.00pm, in a 10-minute slot. This will be for parents/carers and their child to talk to their new teacher. You will have the opportunity to discuss any concerns or worries, and you can share all the brilliant, unique qualities your child has.

If you have not yet signed up for an appointment, please phone the office on 01305 783353. We have a few appointments left to offer. (One appointment per child, please.)

Classroom Visits for Your Child

Wednesday 9th July or Thursday 10th July, 1.30-2.30pm

There will be an opportunity for your child to meet their teacher and TA and explore their new classroom. Children who attend Radipole Pre-school and Scallywags Pre-school are invited on Wednesday 9th July, and children from all other settings are welcomed on Thursday 10th July.

Staggered Start in September

There will be a very short staggered start in September to help the children settle in beautifully; as you can imagine, trying to build trusting relationships with all 30 children is crucial to them settling in quickly. Half the number of children will attend on Wednesday 3rd September, and the remaining half will attend on Thursday 4th September. All children will then attend school full-time from Friday 5th September. We appreciate that this may be hard for working parents, but it is the best way to help the children to settle into school and feel happy and confident.

The specific dates that your child will attend are in the pack of information given to you on Wednesday 18th June at the New Intake meeting. If you did not attend this meeting, your pack will have been emailed to you (or given to you at school if you have an older child who already attends Radipole).

If you have not received your pack, please phone the office on 01305 783353. Please check your junk mail before phoning. Many thanks.
