Happy, kind and brave.
Together we learn, together we grow, together we soar.
We’ve had a fantastic start to the new school year in Year 2! The children have settled in beautifully and it’s been lovely to see them playing with friends and enjoying their time together.
In Science, we’ve been exploring the fascinating world of animal homes. During our first week, the children took part in “Let’s Explore” activities, naming animal homes and thinking about what animal homes look like. This week, we took our learning outdoors to discover things that are alive, dead, or have never been alive—a brilliant way to spark curiosity and observation skills.
In English, we’ve been diving into stories set in the home. One of our favourites has been The Gorilla by Anthony Browne. The children have written some lovely sentences inspired by the story.
In Art, we’ve been experimenting with colour mixing and exploring tones by adding white to paint. The children created fantastic colour strips and used their paints with care and creativity. It’s been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they explore artistic techniques.
We’re so proud of how well the children have started the year and can’t wait to see all the amazing learning and growth ahead!
