Happy, kind and brave.
Together we learn, together we grow, together we soar.
This term year 2 have been studying the artist Henri Rousseau. The children have taken time exploring colour mixing, adding white to make colours lighter as well as adding black to find darker shades.
After this exploration of colour, the children studied small snippets of Rousseau’s famous painting ‘Surprised’ and tried to recreate them themselves using their newly acquired colour mixing knowledge.
Finally, the children planned their own versions of the artists work, first sketching out designs in their sketchbooks and then recreating their plans into a final piece of art work on a larger scale. The art
lessons this term have been enjoyed by all, we are so very proud of the children’s achievements. Their landscape art work pieces look fabulous. Well done children!
