Happy, kind and brave.
Together we learn, together we grow, together we soar.
What a brilliant day Year 4 children had on Monday with the visitor historian. From the moment he arrived, the children knew it was going to be an exciting day!
The costumes of the children were just amazing! The children played the Anglo-Saxon game of Fox and Geese. They made bookmarks using runes and writing with a quill!
The children learned about the different punishments for certain crimes and some children played different criminal characters! They were able to hold a wide range of artefacts from that era – trying on chainmail and different helmets.
In the afternoon, the children learned more about the chronology of the kings during the Anglo-Saxon times. The best part of the day, for many, was the battle at the end. The children had to form a barricade of shields to ward off the spears that were hurled towards them.
Happy to share that all the warriors returned safely!
Congratulations to the children who worked hard with their Summer Reading! We are super proud of you!
