Happy, kind and brave.
Together we learn, together we grow, together we soar.
Year 5 have been exploring geography in a hands-on way by creating their very own ‘biomes in a bag’. Using a sealable plastic bag, a layer of gravel, soil and a sprinkle of cress seeds, the children made miniature environments that recycle their own water – just like the Earth’s natural water cycle. Once sealed, the bags act as self-contained biomes, allowing moisture to evaporate, condense and fall back to the soil. The class will observe how their cress grows over the next couple of weeks, helping them understand how different biomes sustain life.
