Year 5 - Fire Safety Workshop
Year 5 enjoyed an informative visit from a representative of the local fire station, who shared essential tips for staying safe. The children discovered why hoax calls put lives at risk, how faulty electronics can lead to fires, and why it’s crucial to alert firefighters about pets during an emergency.
They also discussed how families are encouraged to check smoke alarms on every level of the home, plan clear escape routes, and agree on a safe meeting point outside. Having an alternative exit could make all the difference if the main route is blocked.
Year 5 were inquisitive, attentive, and represented the school superbly throughout the session. Well done, Year 5!
