Year Two - Exploring the Arctic

This week in Year Two the children have been exploring what it is like to like in the Arctic. They enjoyed using maps and looking at pictures to see what life is like in the Arctic. They used images to talk about what happens sometimes, always and never. They learnt that vehicles in the arctic have big wheels so they do not slide on the ice. They also explored what school in the Arctic looks like.

In English the children have been looking at non-fiction texts. They have used what they learnt to write sentence about polar bears. The children wrote some great sentences and are enjoying learning about Arctic animals.

In nature time the children went on a spider web hunt. They learnt how many different spider webs there are and were able to find these in the woods.

In games, the children are exploring attacking, defending and shooting skills using footballs. The children enjoyed working collaboratively to play small games and used their ball control skills.
