Year 3- Fossils, forest fun and focussed thinking.
This week, we continued our science topic on ‘Rocks and Soils’ by investigating fossils. First, we spent time handling and looking at a range of real fossils in the classroom. Next we learnt about the process through which fossils are formed (fossilisation) and annotated some diagrams to help us remember the sequence in our science books. Towards the end of the week, we enjoyed taking part in a scavenger hunt in the nature reserve, and finally the NHS ‘Mental Health in Schools’ team visited our classrooms to explore some strategies for dealing with worries.
