Year 4 - A step back in tme

Year 4 have had a fabulous week with the usual subjects and their fortnightly visit to the nature Reserve. The highlight of the week however was the Anglo-Saxon day.

The children and staff came dressed ready to step back in time and learn even more about this era with our very own time-travelling historian.

The children learned about what life was like for the warriors and the everyday folk. They learned about crime and punishment, the games the families might have played, and they even got to make bookmarks that were written with a quill and ink, using the Anglo-Saxon alphabet!

For many the best part of the day was using the spears (swimming noodles) and shields for a full on battle of the classes! The day was a huge success and the children's understanding of the topic was greatly enhanced.
