Happy, kind and brave.
Together we learn, together we grow, together we soar.
This week in Year Two has been full of excitement as we began exploring our new Geography and History topics all about Mary Anning and Lyme Regis!
In Geography, the children showed fantastic enthusiasm while learning how to use OS (Ordnance Survey) maps. They worked collaboratively to identify both human and physical features of Lyme Regis, developing their map-reading skills along the way. It was wonderful to see such strong teamwork as they explored map symbols together.
In English, the classroom was buzzing with creativity! The children worked in groups to prepare and ask thoughtful questions to a scientist about a fossil they had “discovered.” They then brought their learning to life by pretending to be TV presenters, interviewing the scientist. Using iPads, they filmed their interviews, and it was fantastic to see their confidence grow as they spoke clearly and stayed in role.
In Art and Computing, the children combined their creativity and digital skills to produce beautiful impressionist-style landscapes using a paint program. They explored colour, texture, and brush effects digitally, resulting in some truly imaginative and expressive artwork.
We are so proud of how engaged and enthusiastic the children have been in their learning—well done, Year Two!
