Happy, kind and brave.
Together we learn, together we grow, together we soar.
This week, we began exploring persuasive writing in English, tying it in with our DT work on packaging. The children examined advertisements and identified key persuasive techniques such as alliteration, catchy slogans, rhetorical questions, and emotive language. They enjoyed spotting these features and discussing how they convince people to buy products, using this knowledge to start planning their own persuasive writing pieces.
In Maths, we continued with multiplication and division, focusing on the 3 times tables. The children worked on problem-solving tasks and began spotting patterns in their multiplication facts, showing great progress.
In the Nature Reserve, we completed our final groups for whittling, with everyone learning how to feather wood. Now that this activity is complete, we’re preparing to start something exciting in the coming months – though it’s a surprise for now!
In PE, the children continued developing their Tag Rugby skills, practising passing and teamwork in mini-games. For Dance, we’ve been working on routines inspired by Matilda the Musical. This week, the children performed to "Revolting Children" with energy, enthusiasm, and plenty of character!
