Year 3 - place value and soil
This week in our maths sessions, we continued with our work on place value, partitioning numbers up to 1,000. The children enjoyed representing numbers in different ways, using base 10 and counters.
Within our science lessons, we studied rocks, fossils, and soils. We collected soil samples from our outdoor area and investigated them using magnifying glasses. Afterwards, we set up a week long experiment using water and a dirt sample where we will investigate what happens throughout the week to the mixture.
