Happy, kind and brave.
Together we learn, together we grow, together we soar.
This week the children have continued to work on their measuring during maths. They used the scales to weigh and compare mass of different objects. They loved using the scales and were fantastic working in groups. In our nature reserve time the children enjoyed using different measuring equipment to measure the length of sticks. They used a tape measure to find how far it was around the trunk of different trees.
The children have all loved learning about Kenya and this week have learnt about urban Kenya. They looked back on their year one work on London to compare what life is like in London compared to Nairobi. They were really interested and keen to ask lots of questions. They were suprised to find how many schools there were in London compared to Nairobi and enjoyed looking at the football stadiums in both places.
In English, we planned our Just So Story to explain why an animal has a particular feature. Lots of children are writing about why the giraffe has a long neck. They will write their stories next week and I'm sure would love to tell you about their story plan over the weekend.
