  • Year 4 Super Start

    Fri 29 Apr 2022 FProbert

    29 April

Can you believe that we’ve reached the final term of the year? This term, the year 4 students have so much to look forward to. We will soon be heading to Leeson House for our residential trip. The trip is closely linked to our geography topic on coasts. This week, we have already looked at the different features of the coast and even drawn our own scaled-maps of Lulworth using Ordinance Survey maps.  Why not ask us about arches, stacks, headlands and dunes?

In English, we have written non-chronological reports about Hermit Crabs. Our spelling lesson was extra fun, for we made the most of the weather and practised spelling our words ending in the suffixes que and gue by using chalk on the playground.

We have also started investigating pencil cases as part of our DT work. Watch this space for some marvellous products at the end of term.

We hope you enjoyed watching the online version of our play – ‘A Big Green Adventure’. We are still celebrating their success!

  • Year 1 Planting sunflowers

    Thu 28 Apr 2022

Year One have been busy looking at seeds and talking about what seeds need to grow strong and healthy.  Some children thought they needed water and sunshine, others thought they needed warmth, water and sunshine.  We discussed why we plant seeds in compost.

Everyone planted two sunflower seeds and we are keeping our fingers crossed 🤞 that they all germinate.
    Let’s watch these pots ! 🌻

The children in Reception are reading superstars!

We read at least three times a week, and sometimes five to be this brilliant!

The children read with all the different adults from Reception, and it is amazing to hear them read so well.

Keep up the good work Reception.

  • Year 3 - What a busy week!

    Fri 08 Apr 2022

To finish off a busy term, Year 3 were great collabadons and made poster reminding them of all the spellings they have done this year! So many spelling rules we have learnt.

We enjoyed a lovely walk to the beach with our Year 6 buddies to take part in a beach clean, and had great fun playing in the park on the walk back. Well done for helping to care for our environment and for walking such a long way.

We have been learning about fractions this week, and using practical equipment and number bar models to help us solve problems. Well done to the children for their determination.

    Enjoy a lovely break everyone 🐰 🐇 🥚 ☀️

  • Year 4 - A Big Green Adventure Production

    Thu 07 Apr 2022 FProbert

We are so very, very proud of the awesome, amazing actors who performed their outstanding play – ‘A Big Green Adventure’, to parents on Thursday. This was the first live performance at Radipole Primary School for over two years, and what a performance! The children should feel very proud of themselves for their singing, acting and dancing was simply BRILLIANT!

This week the children have also had some fun Science lesson where they made telephones to show how sound travels. They have also written some funny stories about Rambashi’s next venture! Ask them about their tales!

Have a super Easter from all of the Year 4 staff and students.

  • Year 1 - Capacity Work

Thu 07 Apr 2022 Karen Ireland

Maths this week has been a bit wet!!!!
We have practised filling containers and experienced using new vocabulary. The children have used the words almost full, almost empty, half full and half empty. Are these last two phrases the same?We had plentiful discussion about what the children thought!
We talked about how many full cups filled a bottle and tried to solve problems.
The children had great fun, but it was a little chilly at the beginning of the week.
    Happy Easter everyone!!!
