  • Year 4 - Visitors

    Fri 01 Dec 2023

What a wonderful week it has been in Year 4. We have been very busy with many interesting visitors and an unexpected delivery.

On Monday, the children, along with the staff, were surprised to see a huge parcel next to the bike shed. No-one knew where it had come from, who it was for, nor what was actually inside the parcel. The parcel was an excellent stimulus for our Everybody Writes Day. The children were encouraged to ask questions, speculate and use their imaginations to write about what they thought was in the parcel. The children wrote some amazing pieces of creative writing!

On Tuesday, the Year 4 children welcomed some visitors from the  Mental Health Schools Team (MHST). They came in to talk about how we can deal with our worries and shared some strategies on how to cope when things get a bit tricky and when we don't know how to deal with those feelings.

We continued to welcome visitors into Year 4. On Friday, the visitors were our very our class parents.  They came in to watch a typical maths lesson, and we hope they also learned some new maths tricks about multiplications. A huge thank you to all of the parents who came. Below are some links to the websites we use to help develop our multiplication knowledge. We use these alongside out usual Times Table Rock Stars  and SumDog

  • Year 3 - Mystery Parcel and digital music

    Fri 01 Dec 2023

This week, we had an unexpected parcel delivered to the front of the school. When we investigated, we could hear lots of animal noises coming from inside. In year 3, we decided to imagine what strange creatures might be lurking within. We had fun creating  some fantastic beasts and writing descriptions of them. We also had our final digital music lesson with Mr Keys. We spent most of the lesson listening to each other’s musical compositions. Here are some pictures of what a musical sequencer looks like.
