  • Year One - STEM Day

    Thu 30 Jun 2022 Mrs I

On Wednesday, Year One explored different ways of joining paper. including curved paper, tubes and cones. We used glue and realised you have to be patient to make it stick properly!!!

The children had 4 Fairy Tale challanges to complete. They had to make a shopping basket for Little Red Riding Hood, a gardening tool for Jack and the beanstalk, a pet carrier for Toto and a hat for the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz.

We had a wonderful morning and the children showed great determination, perseverance and worked collaboratively.

  • Year 5 and 6 STEM Day

    Wed 29 Jun 2022

Years 5 and 6 have had a fantastic day with the Royal Air Force completing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematical challenges! We have learnt all about trajectory, the centre of gravity and pressure when creating our own rockets. We also took part in team building and communication tasks when creating structures. Well done to our winners for creating the rockets that travelled the furthest with the most accuracy and to those individuals who showed great focus and determination. Thank you Mr Slater, Mr Holloway and Mrs Price!

  • The year 5 crowd did us proud!

    Tue 28 Jun 2022

Last night, a selected group of year 5 students took to the stage at Weymouth Pavilion to perform a collection of songs for The Sea Shanties Show that was organised by Dorset Music service   This performance was part of the singing strategy which encourages all Dorset schools to sing!

Under the guidance of Mrs Bowden, the children certainly represented Radipole superbly. They sang songs along with other Dorset school, and performed their own song- Echo Beach. The children looked smart, their singing was sensational, and the accompanying  dance routine choreographed by Mrs Bowden was colourful, coordinated and creative.
For the children who took part - huge congratulations, and to the parents and carers who came to support them  - we thank you.

    A wonderful evening of entertainment!

Wow what a busy week we have had.
The children have worked so incredibly hard on all their art this week and it has definitely paid off!
We've been painting one minute, printing the next.
Well done year 2, we are incredibly proud of all your hard work.

  • Year 3 - Arts Week

    Fri 24 Jun 2022

Wow! What a busy week it has been in Year 3. The children have had a wonderful week of painting, drawing, sticking and making for Arts Week 2022.

Year 3 and 4 had the theme of 'earth' and created some lovely art using nature and looked at creating art based on animals and other natural things. They also had a go at some forced-perspective digital art where they tried to make small natural things seem BIG.

All of Year 3 and 4 worked together to create a giant Earth which can been seen at the front of the school near the car park.

You have produced some great work. Well done Year 3.

  • Year one - Arts week

    Thu 23 Jun 2022 Mrs i

What a busy week! ‘Wind’ was our element for arts week.
We have used water colour paints, marbling, paint and pencils to create some stunning pieces of art work. The children studied the picture ‘Starry Night’ by Vincent Van Gogh and learnt a little about his life and his paintings.
We studied dandelions and created some great pictures. Making kites, was one of the favourite activities and the children had great fun trying to fly them.

We hope you enjoyed our art exhibition.
