  • The Radipole Way

    Fri 21 Oct 2022

Well done to all the children who received certificates in assembly today for showing The Radipole Way.

Not only did we have all our learning dinosaur certificates to hand out, we also had 37 certificates for all those children who took part in the Summer Reading Challenge (run by Dorset Libraries).

We also our very first Key Stage 2 Word Millionaire certificate (a child who has read over a million words this half term). Keep those quizzes on Accelerated Reader going, and hopefully we will have lots more Word Millionaires.

    Fri 21 Oct 2022

Introducing the Radipole Reading Book Worm

Radipole Reading Worm will spend the week with the class who have the most number of children who read five or more times a week and record it on Boom Reader.

Well done 2MH for all your home reading!

  • Year 2 - Re-count the recounts!

    Fri 21 Oct 2022

    Recount the recounts!

Year 2 have been super-busy in English over the past few weeks learning all about recounts. They have written three recounts: one about their trip to St Aldhelm’s Church, one about their trip to Kingston Maurward, and their final one was about The Caterpillar’s Shoes. They have been learning all about time adverbs and sequencing events in chronological order. We are so proud of their amazing writing.

We have come to the end of our Science topic on Habitats and our Art topic about Henry Rousseau. The children have had lots of fun with both topics and have produced some super work.

Congratulations to 2MH who are the first class to have won the Radipole Bookworm Trophy. They won the trophy for having 85% of their class reading the expected five weekly reads. We are so very proud of all the children who have helped 2MH to achieve this award.

Next half term, we are starting our DT project on puppets. This will involve some sewing, so any practise that they can do at home will be truly beneficial. Look out for the helpful hints letter that will be coming your way shortly.

It was lovely to see all the children getting on so well together and making the most of our wonderful outside space.

  • Year 4- Torches

    Thu 13 Oct 2022

This week, we worked hard in our design technology lessons to build a working torch for a specific client (anyone from a gardener, to  a rock-climber, to a spy). First we drew a design, then we built our circuit and finally we produced a torch case made from different materials.
