  • Year Two Book Week

Fri 08 Mar 2024 Mrs Mutch

What a fantastic week Year Two have had during World Book Week. The highlight was definitely listening to all the children recite their poems. They did amazingly and should feel very proud of themselves. The spoon characters they made were brilliant! They were all so creative and must have taken a long time to make; well done all who took part.  The children have also had a great time creating their own bunting of their favourite book, designing their own character or book cover and have continued to make their Kenyan information book on the computer. many children also looked forward to joining their parents in the reading cafe.

  • Year 4 - Brilliant Book Week!

    Thu 07 Mar 2024

What a wonderful Book Week it has been. Many year 4 children happily exchanged books at the Book Swap, on Monday. We still managed to get our fortnightly visit to the Nature Reserve in, where the children created - time! Throughout the week, they have enjoyed the lunch time story-tellers, and created some wonderful bunting for the reading cafe that took place this afternoon.

On Wednesday, the Book Inspired Wooden Spoon Competition was won by Livvi in 4P for her portrayal of the BFG.

The highlight of any Book Week is the dressing up World Book Day. The year 4 children looked amazing, and we were so impressed with how many recited their poems to the class. Ava and Lidia performed their poems in the whole school assembly, and they were brilliant!

Sadly Friday has brought our Book Week to end, but that is not the end of our reading. We are very happy that so many children consistently complete the weekly 5 reads for homework. Reading really is the key to all of their learning. Keep up the great work Year 4. We hope you have now managed to buy a book with your World  Book Day voucher.

  • Years 3 & 4 #LETGIRLSPLAY

    Thu 07 Mar 2024

On Wednesday, a group of Year 3/4 girls took part in the #LETGIRLSPLAY football activity day at Budmouth school.

The girls spent the morning learning many fun skills to help them play better football. Women from the Weymouth Football Team  worked alongside the Budmouth students who helped with the skills-building activities. After an early lunch, the girls then took part in a fun football tournament against the other visiting schools. The glorious weather also helped to make the day even more enjoyable.

    Well done girls!

  • Year One - World Book Day

    Thu 07 Mar 2024 Mrs I

What an amazing effort the children in Year One made in learning a poem or nursery rhyme. We had a fun day and during the week we have shared a book with Year 3 and made some great bunting to decorate the hall ready for our reading cafe on Friday.

Well done to Louie in 1I for being the winner of the decorated wooden spoon.

  • Year 5 - Water Resistance Investigation

    Thu 07 Mar 2024

As part of this term's science topic on forces, the children in Year 5 investigated the effect of shape on water resistance.

The children created different shapes in plasticine (a ball, a pancake and a sausage) and dropped them into cylinders of water, observing how they travelled to the bottom.

They all did a fantastic job, impressing us with their scientific knowledge.

  • Year 3- Radipole Primary Book Week

    Thu 07 Mar 2024

This week, year 3 enjoyed a whole range of activities and events as part of our Radipole Primary Book Week. We listened to stories read by teachers in the playground, shared a book with a year 1 child and  decorated a wooden spoon as a favourite book character. On Thursday, we all came to school dressed as a poem and performed our chosen poems to the class. The very best went on to represent our year groups in an exciting whole school assembly.

  • Year 6 Basketball

    Wed 06 Mar 2024

FINALLY we had a sunny Wednesday afternoon. This meant we could actually go outside with Emily and Joe and enjoy a wonderful session of basketball. We practised the skills we had been learning inside and used them within a basketball style game.

  • Year Two - Bedtime story night and Kenya Day

Fri 01 Mar 2024 Mrs Mutch

What a busy and exciting couple of weeks we have had in school! Last week the children had a fantastic evening listening to stories and enjoying a hot chocolate. The children all enjoyed listening to our visiting storyteller who got the children involved, joining in with the story.

Last week the children were taught how to finger knit. Many of the children showed great resilience with this and although they found it difficult, were able to persevere and carried on during the many wet plays we had last week. It was lovely to see how proud they were of their achievements.

Today we all enjoyed taking part in our Kenya Day. The children worked together with Reception children making animal masks, printing patterns after looking at Kenyan fabrics, drumming and exploring drama - imagining they were on a trip to Kenya. It was lovely to see them all working collaboratively and showing kindness to the Reception children.
