  • Reception - Sports Day

    Fri 12 Jul 2024

What a fantastic sports day we had. The children were wonderful - weren't they! They all tried so hard, the atmosphere and the have-a-go attitude was just superb!

Thank you to all the children who jumped, crawled, balanced, ran, bounced and cheered!

A BIG thank you to the very enthusiastic parents and spectators too! It was great to see so many toddlers and adults get involved with the races.

  • Year 4 -Local Visitors

    Thu 11 Jul 2024

This week the children have been fortunate to have had two visitors.

We welcomed back an ex-Radipole pupil to undertake some work experience. Emily helped out in both classes, but also took charge of one of the PE activities, along with Tom, during our regular Games lesson on Thursday.

On Wednesday, we were overjoyed to welcome Mike Jeffries to our classes. Mike Jeffries is a local watercolour artist. In the Autumn term,  the children studied lots of Mike's work as part of our art curriculum. On Wednesday, Mike talked through, and demonstrated, how he went about creating his masterpieces. He took the children through a step by step  approach, and the children worked alongside him to produce their own masterpieces, and developing their mixing colours and creating effects in a painting. He thoroughly enjoyed working and inspiring the children.

"It was so nice to see all the smiling faces and the intense concentration of many.  The next generation of artists, musicians, sports men and women and captains of industry!" Mike Jeffries.

How wonderful to think that our children truly are that!

Perhaps the current year 4 classes will return to school in the future and inspire future generations too!

Year 5 pupils had a wonderful time at this week’s swimming gala.

The aquatic athletes took part in a variety of events, from the front crawl and breast stroke to water-based egg and spoon races.

The children competed with great skill and determination, producing some tight and exciting finishes. As well as demonstrating fantastic ability, everyone showed tremendous sportsmanship, encouraging and supporting all those who took part.

  • Year 3 - New Barn day 2

    Wed 10 Jul 2024

Day 2's weather was definitely on our side! We managed a lovely local walk admiring all the views of nearby towns with a chance to feed some of New Barn's friends (Penny the Pig, Kilimanjaro and Everest the goats).

We also travelled back in time to Stone Age times. We made our own butter, flour and medicine!

We are incredibly proud of how well the children did and we look forward to the final week of term. Well done Year 3!

  • Year 3 - New Barn

    Tue 09 Jul 2024

We have safely made it to New Barn and are only slightly damp from the pouring rain. This didn't ruin our fun, and we have still had a jam-packed day.

We have done some orienteering -practising our map skills. We have also made some brilliant (and slightly necessary) shelters. We had a delicious dinner and are currently listening to an enthusiastic story teller with a tale linked to our Roman topic. Wish us all luck for some sleep this evening!

The children were simply amazing on Wednesday's KS2 Sports Day. They worked brilliantly within their groups, showing great team spirit. We were all immensely impressed with the individuals who also put themselves forward for the individual races too.

Congratulations to the YELLOW team who won the overall Sport's trophy.

4P is delighted to have won 2nd place for the Book Worm! Well done!

Year 2 have started to look at traditional fairytales in English. They looked at a range of tales and worked in groups to retell one of them using props. They did a fantastic job at performing them to the rest of class and everyone found it very comical!

  • Year One and Two Sports Day - The Parent and Toddlers Race

Wed 03 Jul 2024 Mrs Ireland

We had a lovely morning and here are a few photos off all the parents and toddlers races.

It looks like they had more fun than the children!!!

  • Year One - Sports Day

Tue 02 Jul 2024 Mrs Ireland

We had great fun with all our races. Some were more challenging than others. The egg and spoon race certainly was rather difficult but everyone had some fun.

The children certainly liked watching the parent and toddlers race.
