  • Year One - Music - Use your Imagination

    Wed 04 Jun 2025 Mrs I

This term, we’ve been learning to play instruments to accompany our current song, Use Your Imagination. We’ve tried our hands at both the recorder and the glockenspiel. While playing the recorder was a bit of a challenge (and not always the most tuneful!), we had lots of fun and really enjoyed the experience.

  • Year 6 Residential Day 3

    Wed 04 Jun 2025

Day 3 and we've had another busy day. Today we started the day with a lovely walk down the river to Underfall Yard. We learnt all about the floating harbour and about the Bristol tides and trade. We walked to see the Clifton Suspension Bridge and explored some of the activities in the Underfall Yard visitor centre,

After our packed lunch, we then headed back up the river for an afternoon of water sports, we kayaked, paddle boarded and got pretty wet while learning some new skills and having lots of fun.

After an evening meal and a quick play in the park, we then headed on an evening river cruise.

Now, all very tired, we are relaxing while watching a bit of Wallace and Gromit.

  • Year 6 Residential Day 2

    Wed 04 Jun 2025

Day 2 has been another busy great day.

We started the day by exploring We the Curious - a science museum. We did a fantastic workshop all about levers, pulleys and gears. We then got to go to the planetarium where we learnt about moons and the planets in our solar system. Next we explored all the great hands on exhibits - we really enjoyed the stop-motion animation, spinning and the bubbles.

We then went to M Shed to learn a bit about the history and geography of Bristol harbour.

After that we enjoyed dinner at the hostel before heading off to see War Horse at the theatre. War Horse was good and loud with some great puppetry and explosions.

    Another very busy day.

  • Year 6 Residential Day 1

    Tue 03 Jun 2025

What a busy first day we have had!

We started off with a great trip to Longleat. We loved seeing all the animals on the safari - the giraffes were a real highlight. We then had a lovely boat trip where we saw monkeys, gorillas and sea lions. We also saw koalas, crocodiles and a very slow sloth.

Once we were all settled into our accommodation, we headed out to an amazing all-you-can-eat restaurant. We 'wowed' our teachers with our manners and had a very tasty tea.The ice cream machine was a big hit!

Next was a walk up a big hill to take in the evening views of Bristol.

All very tired and off to bed after a very busy day.

  • Year 3 and 4 Girls' Football Tournament

    Fri 23 May 2025

This week, a group of Year 3 and 4 girls went to St George's to compete in the first event of this kind. The whole team rose to the challenge and played with 100% effort in all 6 games. Many of the team played their debut football match during the event. Each player should be incredibly proud of how they played and more importantly the way in which they represented Radipole throughout the time there. Well done everyone involved.

  • Year 6 - End of SATs

    Thu 22 May 2025

We are so proud of the children for completing their SATs and giving it their absolute best! Ice lollies and Year 6 jumpers are the way forward!

  • Year One - The Isle Of Coll

Thu 22 May 2025 Mrs Ireland

We’ve been learning about the stories of Katie Morag. We found out that the Isle of Struay, where she lives, is based on a real place—Coll, a small island in Scotland’s Inner Hebrides.

Coll is quiet and peaceful, with beautiful beaches, clear blue sea, and hardly any cars. Only about 170 people live there! The main village is called Arinagour, and the island is great for spotting wildlife like puffins, seals, and even dolphins.

We compared Coll to Weymouth. Both have beaches, but Weymouth is much bigger and busier, with more people, shops, and buildings. Coll is a smaller, quieter, and more natural place.

  • Year Two - Family Phonics: Fun, Games, and Learning Together!

Wed 21 May 2025 Mrs Ireland

Over the past few weeks, our Tuesday afternoons have been filled with laughter and learning as parents, grandparents, and children joined Mrs. Ireland and Mrs. Mutch for our lively Family Phonics Club.

Together, we explored key phonemes through a variety of fun games. From exciting treasure word hunts to classic bingo and creative matching activities, every session was packed with energy and enthusiasm.

It’s been a wonderful opportunity for families to learn together, strengthen phonics skills, and most importantly—have fun!

  • Year Two - Making Vehicles

Fri 16 May 2025 Mrs Mutch

We have had a lovely time this week making our vehicles. All of the children had a go at using a saw to cut the dowel for their vehicle. They had to decide if they wanted moving wheels or fixed wheels and had explored ways to make this happen.

The children used their designs to paint their vehicle and then had to evaluate how successful it had been. It was a busy but exciting day. Well done Year Two.

  • Year 3- Newspapers, Video games and Fire-Lighting!

    Fri 16 May 2025

This week, in our English lessons, we finished writing our newspaper reports on the mysterious flying creature Mr Hargreaves saw several weeks ago. We were very pleased with the results. In addition we looked at the features of a non-chronological report/ video games review. Over the next week , we will play some computer games from the CBeebies website and choose our favourite to write a review of. Finally, we returned to the nature reserve, and continued working on our fire-lighting skills.
