Happy, kind and brave.
Together we learn, together we grow, together we soar.
Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Year 5 had a wonderful time in the nature reserve this morning, creating incredibly impressive dens from natural materials.
Children chose their own groups, and they worked collaboratively to decide how to construct a solid and stable shelter.
They explored the nature reserve to search for suitable logs and sticks to make their vision a reality.
We are all looking forward to returning to the forest after the half-term holiday.
The children at Radipole Primary School have been exploring ways to support their mental health. In Year 6, the children spent Wednesday afternoon taking part in a variety of activities. One activity involved children identifying people who help them try new things, and then they created a support balloon displaying their network.
This week the children have been learning about Chinese new year. They have enjoyed making dragons, lanterns and writing in Chinese.
We have been working on our fine motor skills by using chopsticks and noodles in our messy area.
This week, year 4 have been very busy learning a range of new skills.
In our maths sessions, we developed a formal written method of multiplication and used it to solve a range of problems.
Throughout our English lessons, we have been learning to recognise and write complex sentences.
During outdoor PE we even played our very first full hockey match.
Year 3 have been finding out about the life of Queen Elizabeth II ready for the Platinum Jubilee. In English, we looked at the features of the biography genre and we researched and wrote a biography of her life. Well done to all the children for their super efforts.
In art, Year 6 have been studying the artist Chuck Close. Using some of his techniques, they have created portraits, and here are a few of their wonderful pieces...
We’ve been living life on the edge and sawing our very own wooden discs ready to make some natural necklaces - step aside Pandora!
Thankfully no missing fingers and lots of beautifully decorated wooden shapes. Well done year 2!
The children in Year 5 had a fabulous time making pizzas this week.
For this half-term's DT topic, we have been researching what constitutes a healthy, balanced meal. Using the NHS EatWell Guide, children designed their pizzas to ensure that all the main food groups were included.
The children had a wonderful time practising their weighing and chopping skills, and they all created amazing, professional-looking pizzas. The aroma coming from the kitchen this week has been the talk of the school!
Thank you very much for your support with this project.
This week we have been discussing what makes a good friend during our Discovery RE sessions. The children had fun creating a ‘friendship web’ passing a ball of wool around the circle, and exchanging compliments to each other. We then all made friendship bracelets for one another which was great fun!
