Happy, kind and brave.
Together we learn, together we grow, together we soar.
Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
We are so lucky at Radipole to have such fantastic play equipment for lunchtimes. The Year 5 Radipole News Club went to investigate what the children at Radipole enjoy doing at breaktimes.
RADIPOLE NEWS CLUB REPORT
This play time at Radipole Primary School some of the students here used the spectacular Scrap Store to make daring dens and superb obstacle courses. Some children enjoyed playing on the magnificent climbing frame with a bridge and climbing wall.
Year 4 have had a fantastic first week, and what a busy first week it has been!
The children were introduced to their History topic for this half term - The Anglo Saxons. We looked at a timeline of events and when the Anglo Saxons were around. Ask your child what chronology means and they should be able to tell you! Our class book is Beowulf which is a legend set in the Anglo Saxon times.
We also enjoyed our first outdoor (and slightly rainy) hockey lesson. The children were great collabadons and really impressed us with their hockey skills.
Year 3 made a wonderful start to the new school year this week! The children have been polite, enthusiastic and hard-working and have enjoyed beginning some of their new topics such as rocks and soils in science, and Stone Age to Iron Age in history.
Children wrote some English about the Stone Age Boy story, began using our new White Rose workbooks, enjoyed creating some lovely cave art, and started our PE topic on travelling.
Well done to the children for a super start to the year!
All the children have had an exciting time coming back to school. They have already learnt so much and this afternoon had fun exploring the nature reserve on a pirate hunt. The pirate had lost all all of this special things and the children had to search and find them all for him.
We are looking forward to another fabulous week.
What a great start to the new academic year! The children have found that many things are the same as last year: the same lessons; the same play times; lunches are just as delicious; and our fun and caring friends are as wonderful as ever.
Of course, the children have also found that many things are different. They have new classrooms, so drop-offs and pick-ups are in a new place. They have new teachers and TAs who will help them with their learning. They also have responsibilities to help keep our school environment and classrooms organised, safe and happy. The children already have coped brilliantly with these changes.
To the teachers, they all look a little bit different, for they seem to have grown over the holidays! We hope they continue to grow throughout the year by being happy, kind and brave.
A great first week – well done, Year 2.
The children in Year 5 have had a brilliant start to the new school year, and all the adults have been incredibly impressed by their positive attitudes and wonderful manners.
In our science lesson this week, the children tested different materials to explore their properties. The children investigated the scientific concepts of magnetism, hardness, transparency, flexibility and solubility.
Wow, what a week it has been! The children have started their final year at Radipole and settled in really well to the routines. Already they have planned and carried out an investigation into how light travels as well as visiting the local cemetery to explore the World War Two graves.
