Happy, kind and brave.
Together we learn, together we grow, together we soar.
Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
This week we were fortunate to be the first school to receive a session from a team at TePe to teach us how to look after our teeth. We used disclosing tablets to see where the plaque was. If the patches were pink they were recent deposits, and if they were purple, they were long standing deposits. We then learnt how to brush our teeth properly and look after our gums. To top it off, we were all given a goody bag.
Year 5 pupils have been investigating the solar system this week.
The excellent experimenters took to the school field, with groups representing the Sun and the eight planets – Pluto no longer counts.
To demonstrate the relative distances of the planets from the Sun and in relation to each other, children spread themselves around the field, with Mercury just a single step from the Sun and Neptune a distant 76 steps away.
In science this week, we have talked about wild flowers and what the difference is between these and garden flowers. We had a go at spotting wild flowers around the school grounds. We spotted dog roses, nettles, clover and buttercups, just to name a few.
The children were so excited to count so many and we talked about how important wild flowers were for bees and insects.
