Well done to all the children who received certificates for showing one of the learning dinosaurs and The Radipole Way.

There were a lot of Collabadon certificates given out and a special well done needs to be said to the Year 6 Football Team who represented the school so well on Thursday in their match against Holy Trinity.

The Radipole Reading Worm has gone to...2MH AGAIN! With a massive 80% of the children in 2MH reading five or more times this week and recording it on Boom Reader.

  • Remembrance Day

    Fri 11 Nov 2022

Today is the 11/11 which marks Remembrance Day across the country.

In order to show out respect the children had an assembly on Wednesday all about Remembrance Day, and today we took part in a whole school minutes silence. It is lovely to see so many of the children wearing poppies.

The children were exceptionally respectful and reflective. They were wonderful Reflectadons! We could not have been prouder of them. Well done!

  • Year 2 - Visitors

    Thu 10 Nov 2022 FProbert

Thursday was a simply wonderful day for Year 2 with many different visitors.

Our first visitor came during our KS1 singing assembly. The children were pleasantly surprised with a visit from Pudsey Bear. He came in to remind the children about all the good work that the Children In Need charities are able to do because of everyone raising money.  Next Friday is the official day for Children in Need, and we are celebrating it in school by having a non-uniform day.

Our second visitor was our Coach Emily who came in to teach more multi-skills. This week the children worked on rolling different balls. They enjoyed the tails warm-up game. The children were really great Collabadons when they played the gate game too.

Our third visitors on Thursday was Reverend Nick and Laura. They came in to share some stories with the Year 2 children. Check out our story sequencing photo.

What an exciting week! Ps…the children are also secretly learning songs for the Christmas show, and now have lines to learn too. We will share our show with parents on Friday 9 December at 2:30pm.

The cute character popped in to remind the children that Children In Need will be taking place next Friday (18th November).

As a school, we will be wearing spots to raise money for this brilliant cause.

  • Pudsey Visit

    Thu 10 Nov 2022

KS1 and year 3s were surprised in assembly when Pudsey Bear popped in to Radipole. Pudsey and the team talked to the children about the importance of Children in Need.  They learnt about the charity's aims and even got a chance to ask Pudsey some questions.

Year 4, 5 and 6 also got a surprise when Pudsey visited their classes to say a quick hello and remind them to wear something spotty next Friday (18th November)!

Radipole would like to say a HUGE thank you to Lucy, Helen and Esther from Weymouth Manor - Chanctonbury Health care for arranging the visit.

  • Year 2 - Did somebody say Christmas?

    Fri 04 Nov 2022 FProber

This week we have started to learn some Christmas songs ready for our next church visit. We have also been learning a Christmas song as part of our Music curriculum – the children have even learned how to rap!

The children are excited about their new DT project on ‘Puppets’. They have looked at lots of different ones, and learned that the one that uses strings is called a marionette.

Their English writing has been linked to their  Geography topic and they have started to use some expanded noun phrase to help describe the scenes.

Year 2 are fortunate to have started their coaching sessions in their outdoor PE where they are learning a range of multi -skills to help them improve their sporting skills.

This may only be the second half of term, but we are really looking forward to the weeks ahead!
