  • Year 3- River Research

    Thu 16 May 2024

This week, as part of our Geography topic on rivers, year 3 worked in small research groups to find out about famous rivers from around the world. We used atlases, information books and the internet to produce a poster on our chosen river and then presented it to the class.

  • Year 1 Hedgehog Fun !

    Thu 16 May 2024 Year 1 team

On Thursday, all of Year One went down to the nature reserve. We worked with Miss Milan and she gave us a piece of clay to create a spiky hedgehog in pairs. We had to be good collabadons, sharing and working together. We also had the task of making a shelter for our hedgehogs out of natural materials. This really tested our brain power!

We had a wonderful afternoon in the nature reserve.

  • Spiders in Reception

    Thu 16 May 2024 Mullins

This week has been all about Spiders. Starting with the story of Spinderella. We have made spiders out of lots of different material, learned spider facts and ended the week making webs in the Nature Reserve. We all agree- we love Spiders 🕷

  • Year 2 - Nature Reserve and Building Vehicles

    Fri 10 May 2024

This week Year Two had a fantastic opportunity to work with Miss Milan in the nature reserve. The children learnt  lots about plants and enjoyed listening to stories around a campfire.

We began our new class story this week - George and The Dragon. We started by looking at a version by Chris Wormell. The children has a lovely time retelling the story using drama and were fantastic creating their characters with great expression.

On Friday afternoon, we began making our vehicles. What a cretive group of children we have! They all had amazing plans. We were very grateful to all those who brought recycling in and took the time to turn the boxes inside out, it was a great help. The children learnt a lot about how to adapt their ideas and solve problems and are looking forward to decorating the vehicles next week. Well done everyone!

  • Year 4 - fabulous footballers!

    Fri 10 May 2024

Year 4 had the privilege of attending a very bright and sunny St George’s Primary School for an annual football tournament. The boys hadn’t played together before, and after a nervous start, they broke the deadlock in their first game and won the game 1-0.

Throughout a well-contested group stage, they remained undefeated and won the group by the maximum amount of points. In the semi-final, a penalty awarded from an opposition handball resulted in a narrow and nerve-racking victory for the boys. Once again, the final game of the tournament was tense before the Radipole team were victorious for the entire tournament! The team scored lots of great goals, did not concede any goals throughout the entirety of the day, with super defending and blinding goalkeeping.

Well done boys, you were simply incredible and you should be proud! Thank you very much to Mr Ford for organising and taking the team.

  • Year 6 - Before SATs

    Thu 09 May 2024

On Friday, the children were reassured how amazingly hard they have worked all year, that SATs are nothing to worry about and all anyone could ever ask is that they do their best.

Homework was set. The expectation was that the children could complete as much or as little from a list of fun activities: go crabbing, eat an ice-cream, play football, dip your toes in the sea etc.

Most importantly, the children were reminded that the SATs do not define who they are.

  • swimming for the first time in Reception

    Thu 09 May 2024 Mullins

This week we all went swimming in the Radipole outdoor pool!

There was a mix of nerves and excitement. The children were super and we had the sunniest day for months!

Thank you to the team of parents needed to help with such a successful swimming session- we couldn’t do it without you.

  • Year 1- An afternoon exploring the outside environment

    Wed 08 May 2024 Mrs T

This week, Year 1 have been nature detectives. During our science lesson, we went on a tree hunt around the school. We identified different types of trees by looking at the leaves.  The children have learnt about deciduous and evergreen trees. Most of the trees they found on their tree hunt were deciduous trees. The children found many types of trees including; sycamore, silver birch, ash, hawthorn and oak.

Afterwards, the children enjoyed some ‘let’s explore time’ in the sunshine! It was lovely to see the children enjoying the outdoors.
