  • Year 3 trip to Sutton Poyntz

    Mon 22 Mar 2021

Year 3 had a super trip to Sutton Poyntz as part of their rivers topic. The children enjoyed catching creatures in the stream and identifying them, which was a good way to check the quality of the water coming out of the spring. We enjoyed a river-side walk and looked at features of a river, and learnt about where our clean water comes from and how it is treated. Well done to the children for their super behaviour and positive attitudes! Thank you to Wessex Water for having us.

We were delighted to welcome our new PAT (Pets as Therapy) dog to the school today for the first of her weekly visits. Our lovely golden retriever, Jeanie,  and her owners Nikki and Jayne, will visit each week for selected children to spend time with and read to.

Jeanie is a trained therapy dog and spending time with her is a wonderful calming and caring experience for children. We look forward to their weekly visits very much.

  • School Closure Information

    Mon 04 Jan 2021

We are sorry to say that the school is now closed for most pupils from 5th January 2021 until further notice, following government guidance.

The school remains open for key worker children and vulnerable children, but the recommendation is that children only come to school if they are not able to stay at home. Even if children are eligible to attend, they should stay at home if possible and only come to school if there is no alternative.

Guidance on who is eligible to attend school can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision

Please use the online booking system to book a place for your child.

The school day for children attending is currently as follows:

    • Reception: 9.00am to 3.00pm
    • Year 1 and 2 8.55am to 3.10pm
    • Year 3 and 4 8.50am to 3.15pm
    • Year 5 and 6 8.45am to 3.20pm

Breakfast and after-school clubs are still running but on slightly reduced times. Hot lunches are still being provided. Please see the Headteacher newsletters for more details.

Remote Learning is being set via Class Dojo and all children are expected to complete work to the best of their ability. Please contact the teacher in the first instance with any problems or questions regarding home learning.

Good luck everybody – we hope you stay safe and well, and we can’t wait to reopen and welcome all the children back again!

    Best wishes.
