Happy, kind and brave.
Together we learn, together we grow, together we soar.
Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
The Nature Club have had a fun few weeks! We measured, marked, sawed and hammered together our fabulous bird boxes - these are designed for robins and we look forward to putting them in the nature reserve shortly.
We also enjoyed some pond dipping and were astonished by the number of newts in the school pond!
MASSIVE thanks as always to Mrs Dilkes and Dr Nige for all their help and support.
Well done, everyone :-)
We had a lovely but hot walk along the Esplanade on Wednesday. We looked at some of the buildings and tried to find our surname on the war memorial. The children had a shady stop for a drink and quick snack.
After some fantastic attempts at drawing the Jubilee Clock, we walked on to see King George's bathing machine and his statue.
It was a lovely morning out!
We would like to thank all parents and grandparents who volunteered to support us!
Following another three visits from Louie O'Leary (Conservatives), Katherine Bennett (Green) and Matt Bell (Liberal Democrats), Year 6 held their own election.
The results are in...
4th place was Green
3rd place was Conservatives
2nd place was Labour
1st place was Liberal Democrats (with a small margin)

-We walked to Sand World and enjoyed a picnic in the park
Phew. Enjoy the photos.
During Love Where We Live Week, Year 5 walked from school to the beach and litter picked. The children were amazing and loved helping looking after where we live. We feel so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world and we had many locals say well done for our efforts! Well done, Year 5. You are wonderful!
Today, year 6 had a visit from Lloyd Hatton from the Labour Party. He explained what his priorities for the local area:
* supporting families, pensioners and small businesses
* restore services at community hospitals
* stop sewage spills
* fix the asylum system
* invest in key local services
The children then had the opportunity to ask questions.
We will have a Year 6 vote after we have had a visit from 3 other party representatives. Watch out for our votes...
On Tuesday, Year 6 were fortunate to have members of the MHST come in to visit. We all spoke about the feelings we are experiencing about the change coming up, we know other people are experiencing the same feelings and it is ok to feel a mixture of feelings at once.
On Monday, the children were fortunate to have many visitors discussing their jobs and answering many questions the pupils of Year 6 asked. Without the support of these amazing adults volunteering to come in, our fabulous career afternoon would not have been successful - thank you!
This has felt like one very busy week! The children have worked brilliantly in Maths - with their new topic on Shape. In English, the children have learned about the perilous feat that Philippe Petit performed in 1974 as part of their recount writing. Mrs Smith has been tremendously impressed with the knowledge and application in French this week - they truly are amazing.
The spelling lesson took the children outside to write the new spelling words using chalk and then water and brush (they had to be quick!)
Friday is always a fabulous day for the children are outside swimming. In addition to the usual Friday, many children went off to perform new roles today as they took over teaching roles, care-taking roles, head teaching role and librarians! Wonder if any of them will take on these roles later in life?
This week the children have enjoyed watching the Geography fieldwork films from Oddizzi about the Jurassic Coast. Some of our children were involved in the filming of this during February half term. The children were all excited to see their friends being interviewed and we were very proud of how well they represented our school. The children made notes in a Geojotter when following the KS1 film and enjoyed spotting places that were familiar to them.
On Friday we enjoyed being part of Children Run The School Day. We had lots KS2 pupils who had applied to be either teachers or teaching assistants for the day. The children enjoyed taking part in the lessons taught by the pupils which included a PE lesson, a lesson making chatterboxes and a history lesson about the Kings and Queens of England. Year Two where fantastic, listening carefully and following the instructions, well done.
