Happy, kind and brave.
Together we learn, together we grow, together we soar.
Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
It seems that suddenly the year has come to an end and the children are thinking of moving on.
We are so proud of the progress that they have made this year. They are almost ready to have their summer break and make the transition to their new Year 3 classes.
This week the children have reflected on their Love Where We Live week and painted their clay Jubillee Clocks. We think these would look great on a Christmas tree or on a window.
In PSHE, they have been reflected on how they have changed and what they are looking forward to next year. In their final lesson of PE, the children took all of their skills and knowledge and created their own games to play.
Year 3 enjoyed a lovely swimming gala morning this week! There were races for all the strokes, underwater, best handstand, longest mushroom float, craziest dancer and lots more!
Well done to the children for their super efforts
Year 5 Geography Day was an enjoyable and knowledgeable experience. Students explored geographical features and engaged in interactive map activities. They learned about different cultures, climate patterns, and landforms, broadening their understanding of the world. It was a day of discovery, fun, and valuable geographical insights.
We loved we love where we live week. We made sandcastles, designed new theme parks and thought about what we love about Weymouth and what we would do to make it even better. We looked at photographs of Weymouth now and compared them to photographs of when our Great Grandparents were children in the past living in Weymouth.
We designed town bridges, harbours and experimented with floating and sinking. We made sea gulls and created lots of lovely art work all celebrating where we live.
In Maths this week we have been making different numbers using Base 10 equipment. We used towers of tens and individual ones to represent a number. After, we used the Base 10 equipment to show one less and one more than the number we had made. The children showed really good understanding and enjoyed using the equipment practically. We then worked in our White Rose booklets and finished with a game of bingo- one more and one less style! The children really enjoyed it. Perhaps have a go at Bingo at home yourself!
Today, Year 6 experienced their second day of Primary College. They certainly looked they enjoyed themselves!
Today was our first of three days at Primary College. The children behaved beautifully and were a credit to the school. Have a look at some of the activities they got up to...
The children are all having a great time at New Barn Field Centre and had a good night.
They have enjoyed the food (especially the big breakfast). The activities have been a real hit. The camp fire stories were brilliant and the shelter building and nature walk have been super too.
They can't wait to see you all later.
The McKechan family have won some books for the school. Year One have already read one book, and we hope to put the other two books into our school library.
A Big Thank You.
From everyone at Radipole.
Love Where You Live Week has been wonderful. Year 2 took the road less looked at this week. We always think of Weymouth and its fabulous beach, but as the children discovered , the beautiful countryside is also stunning.
We took walks to Two Mile Coppice, Tumbledown Farm and a little stroll to the front gates to complete our Maths traffic survey.
Please ask a Year 2 child about the beach at Radipole! We will give sticker out to anyone who has asked that question!
We also wrote some super postcards in the style of those crayons! You know which ones, right?
