• Year 5 - WOEC

  This week, 5T visited Weymouth Outdoor Education Centre (WOEC) for a fun-filled day of kayaking, climbing and tunnelling. The intrepid adventurers sported super smiles all day, and they all worked together sensibly and collaboratively.

   

  The children impressed everyone with their positive attitude and sense of adventure; they were a credit to themselves and the school.

   

  Radipole is very proud of them.

   

  

• Year 6 Action Scene

  We launched the week with a visitor from Neighbour Plan, who spoke to the children about their aspirations and their aspirations for their community. 

   

  During our English lessons this week, Year 6 have been using a variety of sentence types to create a description of a World War Two action scene based on a variety of pictures. 

  

• Year 3 PE, music and maths!

  Year 3 have been busy again this week - children have enjoyed having a football coach for PE, have played music instruments carefully using the correct notes, have learnt about the sculptor Barbara Hepworth, and have done some super place value work in maths. Well done for your hard work 🤩 👍

• Year 1 Julia Donaldson

  As you know we have been reading a range of Julia Donaldson books. This week we have read The Gruffalo and the children have enjoyed retelling the story and hot seating ‘The Gruffalo’.

   

  This afternoon we had fun creating our own Stickman in the nature reserve. The children worked successfully together to join two sticks with a pipe cleaner.

  

• Year 4- Roman Numerals

  This week, in our maths sessions, we learnt how to read and write Roman numerals. We used this to solve problems and even create our own calculations.

• Year 2 - progress

  Year 2

  Another busy week in Year 2. The children are really starting to make progress in lots of areas. They are settling into their daily routines, and can get themselves organised and ready to work much more quickly. They are trying so very, very hard to change for PE as quickly as they can, and whilst some challenges remain, we are very proud of the progress they have made. Tying shoes and top buttons are their main challenge, so any support at home will be great.

   

  This week, the children have been working on partitioning of numbers in Maths. The photo shows how they are investigating different ways to partition a 2-digit number.

   

  

• Outdoor Learning in Reception

  The children are settling into school very well, and are really enjoying our outdoor area. This is where some of our ‘COOL’  time (choosing our own learning) takes place. 

   

  Making new friends whilst exploring and learning together is magical. 

  Building, creating, problem solving and making are going on. New language is being spoken, and physical development is also happening! Phew, we are so busy!

  

• Year 5 - Persuasive Writing

  In our English lessons, the children have been planning and writing a persuasive text to encourage a family audience to visit Dorset.

   

  The children have used a range of persuasive techniques to sell our wonderful county, including amazing adjectives, alliteration, rhetorical questions, exclamations and commands.

   

  We can’t wait to show you their work at October’s parents’ evenings.
